Product Description & Features

It's October 3, 1951, and Bobby Thomson of the Giants has just ripped into a Ralph Branca pitch in the decisive third game of the National League playoff at Manhattan's Polo Grounds. Thomson's "shot heard 'round the world" is headed toward the left field seats for a dramatic, 3-run, ninth-inning homer as the Giants roar from behind to earn a World Series berth against the Yankees.
Your vantage point in the upper deck between home plate and first base begins with Thomson, sweeps across left field and ends in deep right center. You barely notice the pillar. Dodgers visible on the field are catcher Rube Walker, first baseman Gil Hodges, second baseman Jackie Robinson, shortstop Pee Wee Reese, third baseman Billy Cox, left fielder Andy Pafko, center fielder Duke Snider and right fielder Carl Furillo. Pinch-runner Clint Hartung is on third for the Giants, and Whitey Lockman is on second. Thomson's 1-out home run followed Lockman's RBI double, which had reduced Brooklyn's lead to 4-2.
