Marcus Thames was drafted in the 30th round of the 1996 Major League Baseball Draft and he now back playing for the team that drafted him, the New York Yankees. Originally signed an outfield insurance, Thames has shined in a starting role, giving the Yankees a big boost with his powerful bat. He crushed a walk-off home run off Red Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon to give the Yankees their first walk-off win of the season on May 17.
