  • Justin Morneau had a breakout season in 2006 becoming the first Minnesota Twin to hit 30 homeruns in a single season.
  • Justin finished the season hitting .321 with a slugging percentage of .559 (6th in AL) with 34 home runs and 131 RBI (2nd in the AL, most hit by a Canadian in MLB).
  • He won the 2006 Silver Slugger Award for his defensive play at first base and also won the American League MVP award.
