But this is the World Series, where the pressure of the moment or maybe even the Curse of the Bambino causes the ball to trickle through Boston Red Sox first baseman Bill Buckner's legs, allowing the winning run to score. Buckner's error, one of the most lasting and memorable moments in baseball history, forced the series to a seventh game where the New York Mets finally laid claim to their second World Series championship and first since 1969. This 8x10 photograph of that infamous play has been hand signed by both Mookie Wilson and Bill Buckner, with Wilson adding the inscription, "10/25/86." A Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity is included.
