- Keith Hernandez was indisputably the best-fielding first baseman of his time, winning 11 straight Gold Gloves and setting records for most seasons leading 1st basemen in double plays and lifetime assists.
- After coming to the Mets, he won the World Series in 1986. In 1987 he was named team captain.
- He has hand signed this official MLB baseball, which comes complete with a Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity.
Hernandez's great range helped him lead NL first basemen in assists five times, putouts four times, and fielding average twice. Hernandez led the NL in batting in 1979 with the Cardinals, winning the only shared MVP Award in history that year (with Willie Stargell) as well as TSN NL Player of the Year. He also had career highs with 48 doubles and 116 runs, both League-leading totals, and 105 RBI.
