Product Description & Features
This sentimental jersey was worn by Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig, arguably the greatest first baseman in the history of the game, in his final season for the New York Yankees. The "Iron Horse" played in a then-record 2,130 consecutive games, hitting nearly 500 home runs in the process, before the debilitating disease made 1939 his final season. On July 4, 1939, Gehrig gave one the most famous farewell speeches of all time, before leaving the Yankees.
