Comments about MLB_The Emblem Source Major League Baseball 125th Anniversary Commemorative Patch:
1994 was the 125th Anniversary of Major League Baseball. It was also the year the players and owners just could not get any labor peace at all. The strike just ruined everything. It wiped out the entire post season and it was just hard on all of the fans who wanted to see baseball. The Yankees were favored to win the American League Eastern Division and the American League Pennant and it was the year that the Wild Card was to be instated in both leagues. The Montreal Expos were running away in the National League Eastern Division, in the newly created National League Central, it was the Cincinnati Reds who were favored to win the newly created division. The NL west was looking like the Los Angeles Dodgers would win it. The Newly created American League Central, the Chicago White Sox had a stronghold on that newly created division with the Cleveland Indians breathing down the White Sox necks and in the American League Western Division it was the Texas Rangers who were playing in their new ball park after playing 22 seasons in the old Arlington Stadium. Then on August 12, 1994, the players walked off the job. The strike had happened and the fans were shut out from seeing a Major League Baseball game ever again that season. It was a season that was ruined by players and owners trying to work out the new agreement but everything was not going right at all. The season and post season were canceled. Many people thought if the strike did not happen, the Yankees would have won the World Series that year but never did. They won it two years later and showed everybody that they were back in full force as a team. This patch I would add to my growing baseball patch collection I have so far.
