Eddie Murray burst onto the Major League Baseball scene in 1977 and that season won the American League Rookie of the Year Award. Murray became the 20th player in League history to collect 3,000 hits, but was only the second switch hitter to accomplish that feat. The Hall of Famer was one of only three men with 500-plus HRs and 3,000-plus hits in his career.
