This cap was first worn by the Athletics when they first came to the City of Oakland, CA after some miserable years in Kansas City. The Athletics in 1969 became contenders in the newly created American League Western Divsion chasing the Minnesota Twins. In 1971, the Athletics won their first American League Western Divsion title and were swept by the Baltimore Orioles in that year's Amercian League Championship Series three games to 0. This cap that I would like to own again because the one I had shrunk due to rain. This would be a great cap to add to my collection.

This cap is a BEAUTIFUL kelly green in color. The look and fit are very nice. It's great for any fan of the Oakland A's baseball team, especially those who cherish the origins of the franchise in Oakland. The only error, albeit a minor one, is the description of the cap. This cap was worn by the A's in 1968 and 1969, only. The cap worn in 1970 had an added apostrophe S ('s).
